This was a fountain for a friend. I had a couple of the hammered copper domes, waiting for the right project so I picked one. I imagined the water shooting up the tube, hitting the inside of the dome, and then cascading off of the edges. It turned out pretty much how I envisioned it.
The pump is wired to an acrylic square with two bricks wired in for weight. The vertical tube is 1/2” copper. I soldered a fitting onto the bottom that screws directly onto the pump outlet fitting. I added some hammered brass, “viney” pieces that snake around the tube and then curve out to clamp on the edge of the dome. The wrinkled edges of the dome were added to break up the cascade into separate water spouts. It sounds great. I have several other designs that are all based on the different sounds they might create.
